A person holding Teeth Veneers in Milwaukie, OregonWe can make a significant change to the look of your teeth without too much fuss. Dental veneers provide patients with the look of perfection, saving time and money. With them, we can hide chips, fractures, stains, and even alter the size and shape of your most visible teeth. This is ideal for patients who are seeking that professional look without the time and hassle of braces or crowns. Our team at Michael Regan, DMD Family, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry can help you achieve perfect looking teeth in about two dental visits.

Dental veneers are a thin shell of porcelain that is matched to your natural color and customized to fit your bite and the look you want. With them, we can:

•  Hide Chips and Fractures: Teeth can get chipped or even fractured from regular use. You do not have to live with unsightly tooth breakage, we can fix them. Dental veneers are a great cosmetic restoration for teeth that have been damaged.
•  Hide Discoloration, and Whiter Teeth: Teeth can become discolored due to a variety of reasons. Some stains can be removed, and some can not. Teeth that have been intrinsically stained from fluorosis or certain medications can be covered with dental veneers. This can help you have whiter, brighter, beautiful teeth.
•  Close Gaps: Gaps between your teeth can be visually distracting, altering your look. We can help your teeth appear closer, closing gaps. Many patients feel that having good positioning in their teeth helps their smile seem more put together enhancing their look.
•  Alter the Shape: We can alter the shape of your teeth. Using dental veneers, we can help your teeth look longer, shorter, or even straighter.

Placing your Veneers

The process of placing veneers is simple. For most patients, we can accomplish this is in two office visits. The first appointment will include discussing your needs, finding the best color match, and then making the preparations to your tooth. To prepare your tooth, we reduce the natural tooth structure in size and depth. We then clean the tooth and roughen up the surface; this will help the cement adhere better. We will place a temporary veneer at this first appointment.

Your second appointment will be scheduled after we have received your veneer from the dental lab. We will remove the temporary veneer, clean the surface of the tooth, and fit the permanent veneer. We will ensure the bite is correct and can make any alterations at this time as needed. Once the tooth is perfectly fitter, we can then cement the veneer in place. Your dental veneer should last several years with proper care; we will check its status during your regular dental visits.

Dental veneers can seem almost magical, patients come with any range of physical teeth issues, and we can hide them all. On average, dental veneers can remain in place for ten years. We can make any of your most visible front eight teeth, whiter, brighter, straighter, and perfected.
